Meet the perfect men's suit!
It all started with that one perfect dress, and now we even have a LaDress men's suit!
The men's suit is the original suit—the classic suit. And although we've been making suits for women for quite some time now, the traditional men's suit was still missing from our collection. But when I saw our son Beau wearing a suit on his birthday—a gift from my parents—I thought: he looks so handsome. And, secretly, I wondered: wouldn't it be possible to create one the LaDress way?
We've been crafting our own patterns by hand for years, but Leny accepted the challenge of designing this pattern somewhat hesitantly... to create a men's suit that anyone who feels drawn to it can wear.
"It was quite a journey, Simone," she sighed. Thank you, team—you truly outdid yourselves this time!
And now we have a men's suit in the collection that is the perfect blend of our women's suit and the classic men's suit. Or, as Lise put it: "How cool is it that all three of us are wearing the same suit now! :-)"
That, of course, makes this campaign especially meaningful to me. I started LaDress after a turbulent period in my life, driven by my own needs, while raising two young children, juggling a demanding job, and maintaining a busy social life.
And now those tiny little kids have suddenly grown up! They've grown alongside our company and, for this one special occasion, have even joined us in telling our story—a step into the future together. With Beau, Lise, and me all wearing the same "men's suit." It looks fantastic on both of them, is incredibly comfortable (Beau doesn't want to wear anything else anymore), and it doesn't wrinkle.
Beau's jacket and Lise's trousers are made from a different fabric than you're used to from us. It's still sourced from Italy, but it's slightly heavier and of exceptional quality. The only compromise we had to make is that this suit can't be machine-washed at home. That's mainly due to its construction and finishing.
Simone van Trojen founded LaDress in December 2006 out of a personal need and a deep desire to make women's lives easier and inspire them to pursue whatever it is that truly makes them happy.
"I wasn't particularly interested in fashion, but I did want to look good and feel beautiful. Of course, it's wonderful to spend time putting together an outfit with care, but in reality I also wanted getting dressed to be quick and effortless. That way, I'd have more time for the things that really mattered. And I soon realised I wasn't the only one who felt that way."
Fifteen years later, LaDress has grown into a company we're incredibly proud of. What started with a single dress has evolved into a collection of beautiful, timeless pieces with the perfect fit—outfits that can be dressed up or down with ease and that help women feel confident, comfortable, and their very best. Today, we're a modern company: digital, personal, and committed to sustainability, while still staying true to the craftsmanship that has been at the heart of LaDress from the very beginning.
This year, we're celebrating those first fifteen years by looking back on all the beautiful moments, iconic styles, and enduring values that have shaped our journey. And we're not just celebrating through memories—we'll also be bringing back a selection of beloved archive styles as limited-edition gifts, available for just a few days at a time throughout the year. We're also celebrating by embracing the present: appreciating everything we've built, our beautiful brand, and our ever-growing community of Members.
